Find profitable products for Dropshipping

In this post we will share our thoughts and experiences about finding perfect products for dropshipping on Amazon. This list is not exhaustive. You may have some additional criteria for a perfect product. However, we would like to underline some really important points that should be taken into account when you search for your next or first product to sell online.

1. Customer rating – minimum 3,5 stars.
2. Customer reviews – minimum 10.
3. Price. Don’t look for very cheap items. What’s the point to sell products and earn one or two dollars only? It’s better to avoid items that cost less than 10 dollars. Look for products that could generate significant profit.
4. Number of sellers – maximum 5 (It also depends on BSR. If BSR is low then 2-3 sellers, if BSR is very high then you can try to sell the item even if there are more than five sellers).
5. Competitive price. Your price should be competitive. (It does not mean your price should be lowest. If your status is “Just launched” it is better to target first or second position on a listing).
6. Relevance. Check when the last customer review was done. It should not be too old.
7. Try to avoid fragile products. They may be delivered in an inappropriate condition to your customers and chances for returns are very high.
8. Pay attention to seasonality factor.
9. Don’t try to sell Prime items or items that are also sold by Amazon.
10. Don’t sell branded items. Your account could be banned.
11. If you are new in Amazon dropshipping we recommend to look for products without Buy Box (You can get a Buy Box only after 3-6 months of successful sales).
